Honor View 10 smartphone has been launched at an event in London. The Huawei’s sub-brand also unveiled the Honor 7X alongside View 10.Honor View 10, also called the V10 in China, is an affordable upgrade to the Mate 10 Pro smartphone. The View 10 is company's first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered phone, thanks to the Kirin 970 SoC along with a new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) co-processor.
Honor View 10 comes with a 5.99-inch screen offering Full HD+ display, in an 18:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 2160x1080 pixels. The smartphone is capable of intelligent object recognition like the Mate 10 Pro, and can automatically adjust camera settings.
Honor View 10 runs Android Oreo, with company’s EMIU 8.0 skin on top. The Kirin 970 SoC system enables AI features, some of which will be installed on the device as part of an update.
Just like Mate 10 Pro, the Honor View 10 has a dual-rear camera setup, with a 16MP RGB sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor combination. It comes with a 13MP front lens for video calls and selfies.
Honor View 10 supports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, along with Face Unlock for security. Another interesting feature of the View 10 is its 3D Animation, similar to Apple's Animoji. It helps transpose faces onto animal characters.
Backed by a 3750 mAh battery with SuperCharge technology support, the Honor View 10 features 6GB RAM and128GB internal memory. Storage on this phone can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.
Honor looks at the View 10 as competition in the mid-range smartphone segment. Among its key competing brands are the OnePlus 5T, alongside Vivo and Xiaomi flagships.
Honor View 10 has been priced at 499 euros (Rs 37,000 approx). The phone will be available in India from January 8, 2018 across online and offline retail channels.
