Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti 2018: Born on October 31, 1875, Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as Sardar Patel was India's first Deputy Prime Minister. Deeply involved in the politics of India, this senior leader of the Indian National Congress played an extremely important role in creating the Republic of India. He is also credited for leading the struggle for India's Independence from the front. A statesman and a barrister, Patel played an integral role while creating the new, united India.
