This year, red carpets were back in physical mode after a year of stars accepting awards and attending events via TV and laptop screens. Naturally, they spared no effort to put together memorable ensembles after a dull year of only sweatsuits and pyjamas. It turned out to be the year of bizarre outfits. Schiaparelli's repeated appearances on the red carpet with its surrealist couture and anatomical jewellery and Kim Kardashian's love affair for Balenciaga's catsuits were two of the peak moments in bizarre fashion this year, among many.
