Delhi’s Shruti Sharma topped the merit list released for the 2021 exam on Monday, followed by Kolkata’s Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla from Anandpur Sahib in Punjab. A total of 685 candidates – 508 men and 177 women – have qualified in the examination and their names were recommended by the Commission for appointment to various central services.

AIR 1 Shruti is an alumnus of St Stephens College and Jawaharlal Nehru University and has been preparing for UPSC Civil Services exam at Jamia Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy. University Vice Chancellor Najma Akhtar visited her residence in Delhi to extend her wishes. Elated by her success, Sharma said she was confident about qualifying the UPSC exam but topping the merit list came as a surprise.
A native of West Bengal, Ankita Agarwal secured second rank in the UPSC CSE result. She is currently training with Indian Revenue Services Customs and Indirect Taxes at Faridabad.

Making it top 10, Delhi's Ishita Rathi secured an AIR 8 in her third attempt. Daughter of Delhi Police officials, Rathi is an alumnus of Lady Shriram College, DU.

Ravi Kumar Sihag has cleared the Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services Examination in his third attempt and secured AIR 18. He is believed to be the Hindi medium topper this year.
