As we come to the close of yet another year, we take a look at how our celebrities have fared on the popularity graph in the new digital age. Making it to the Google's most searched Indians list are actors Sunny Leone, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Sunny Leone: Racing to the top is none other than former adult-film actress Sunny Leone who is now successfully carving a place for herself in B-Town. No doubt, the lady has a number of fans and has definitely piqued the interest of her followers. Named in an obscenity case filed by a Mumbai housewife; blamed for the increase in rapes due to her condom ad; her sizzling appearance in the films 'Ek Paheli Leela', 'Kuch Kuch Locha Hai' and a music video she featured in titled Super Girl From China which was slammed for being sexist may have been contributing factors. She will be next seen in adult comedy 'Mastizaade' next year.
Salman Khan: Salman Khan comes at second place on the list of 10 most Googled Indians, which is one up from last year. Sunny Leone and Salman also top the lists for most searched Bollywood actress and actor. The actor's films 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' have done well this year, however, Salman also made news due to his 2002 hit-and-run case verdict.
A. P. J. Abdul Kalam: Former late President APJ Abdul Kalam was at third spot. His passing away earlier this year on July 27 was mourned by the whole nation.
Katrina Kaif: She may be a very private person, however, owning to her romantic equation with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif is always being looked up for news.
Deepika Padukone: Considered to be the reigning queen of Bollywood, it's no surprise that Deepika is on the list. Not only did she have three huge releases for 2015 - 'Tamasha', Piku, and 'Bajirao Mastani', but her relationship with Ranveer Singh is one of the most talked about topics.
Shah Rukh Khan: He's one of the most popular men all over the world and people want to know about him constantly. Shah Rukh has also been all over the news due to his big release of 2015, 'Dilwale' which has him reunited with Kajol. SRK was also named as the richest Indian celebrity by Forbes.
Yo Yo Honey Singh: His rocking beats have kept him at No. 7 on the list of most searched Indians. His rendition of the hit 90s song 'Dheere Dheer Se' featuring Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor was a smash hit and loved by fans all over the world.
Kajal Aggarwal: The actress who had quite a few South releases this year also made it to the list.
Alia Bhatt: The starlet's rumoured relationship with actor Sidharth Malhotra has been making the rounds more then once, especially due to their occasional spottings. She also appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor in 'Shaandaar', which seems to have contributed to her popularity. And she has also bagged a project opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Gauri Shinde's next.
Narendra Modi: After making it to the second spot last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now at No. 10.
