Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan has earned Rs. 68.35 cr in six days. The film witnessed a decline in collections on Monday (April 18), Tuesday (April 19) and Wednesday (April 20) but since holidays are about to begin, the film is likely to gain momentum again. Marking a perfect opening with Rs. 19.20 cr in its kitty, the collections of other days could not go beyond that. On Wednesday, Fan managed to earn a mere Rs. 4.20 cr.
Proving his star power on day one, Shah Rukh Khan’s film could not stand strong throughout the first weekend as it earned Rs. 15.40 cr on Saturday and Sunday’s collections were Rs. 17.75 cr. By making Rs. 6.05 cr on day four (Monday), Rs. 5.75 cr on day five (Tuesday) and Rs. 4.20 cr on day six (Wednesday) the total collections of Fan have gone up to Rs. 68.35 cr.
The film which has got a thumbs up by the critics has been getting mixed response from the viewers. The Sunday collections of the film will play an important role in the overall collections of the first weekend.
Shah Rukh Khan, who came back with a negative role after a long time, was also praised by the critics and film fraternity for his performance as fan Gaurav and superstar Aryan Khanna in the film directed by Maneesh Sharma.
The movie did a great business internationally as well as it collected $2.7 million (Rs. 17.93 cr.) on Thursday (April 14) and Friday (April 15).
With this box office numbers, Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan has shot up to the top position beating Akshay Kumar’s Airlift with Rs. 12.35 cr. and the recently released Jon Favreau’s The Jungle book with Rs. 10.09 cr. on the opening day.
Indian Express critic Shubhra Gupta also gave Fan three and half stars and has praised SRK for his performance.
