The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 results for all ten regions were announced on Saturday with girls again performing better than boys. As per the CBSE, the passing percentage of girls stood at 88.58 as compared to boys which was 78.85 per cent. A total of 1,065,179 candidates were registered for the 2016 board examinations.

Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala recorded the highest percentage of passing with 97.61 followed by Chennai in Tamil Nadu with 92.63 percent. (Source: Express photo by Vishal Srivastav)

The CET counselling, which allows students to choose colleges, would end by July 31.
