The birth dates of his children turned out to be lucky numbers for an Indian man in the UAE, making him win a whopping 15 million dirhams (Rs 33 crore) in Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket raffle draw.

The 40-year-old Malayalee man Rajeev Arikkatt hit the jackpot on Monday (February 5) with a free ticket number 037130, Khaleej Times reported.

Rajeev, who works as an architectural draftsman, has been a resident of Al Ain for 10 years. “I have been purchasing tickets for the last three years, but has won for the first time,” he told Khaleej Times.

His wife helped him select the ticket with the numbers 7 and 13, which are the birth dates of their two children. Even though he had six tickets in the draw, he won with the free one. “I got a special offer from Big Ticket, whereas I got four tickets for free when I purchased two,” he said.

Rajeev, however, will be sharing the winnings of the Big Ticket draw with 19 others equally. The two tickets bought were paid for by all them.

Big Ticket Abu Dhabi is a long-running and extremely popular prize draw hosted at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
