If you have been seeing videos around the internet about a sleek white gun that sucks up water and displays its level with a glowing indicator, then you’ve probably seen the Xiaomi Mijia Pulse Water Gun. Xiaomi, which is known for selling goods in the most surprising categories, including sneakers, is recently also started selling fancy toy guns that look straight out of sci-fi movies.
As you can see in the video below, the Mijia Pulse Water Gun vaguely resembles Black Manta’s hydro-plasma rifle which the underwater king Orm gifted him. While Xiaomi obviously isn’t a sea-dwelling corporation, it does seem to have acquired the design patents for the gun from those underwater beings.
But the Mijia Pulse Water Gun is not just a pretty toy. It also has some impressive features that make it fun and practical. It can shoot water in three modes: continuous, single, or charged, with a maximum speed of 25 water bombs per second and a range of 7 to 9 meters. It can also refill itself automatically by absorbing water from any source in 10 to 15 seconds. And it has a high-definition tactical display that shows the mode and status in real time.
The Mijia Pulse Water Gun can even be a useful tool for cleaning. You can use it to wash your car, windows, floor, or pet. It has a 1,800mAh lithium battery that supports 10W charging via USB Type-C. It can last for up to 40 minutes of continuous use on a single charge.
The Mijia Pulse Water Gun is part of Xiaomi’s expanding portfolio of household and consumer electronics. The company is known for making innovative products that improve the quality of life for its customers, such as smart TVs, laptops, air purifiers, vacuum cleaners, electric scooters, and more.
Xiaomi launched the Mijia Pulse Water Gun in a crowdfunding campaign that ran from April 19 to April 26 for 649 Yuan (about $94). Like most other Xiaomi products, the toy is currently only available in China, but some unofficial channels are selling it in other regions, such as Ali Express which has the toy listed for $299 (about Rs 25,000).
