June 13, 2024 marks eleven years since the debut of Korean supergroup BTS. From their humble hip hop beginnings to the global force they are today, the band’s music has managed to transcend age, genre and language barriers, breaking countless records along the way. Today, they make up 0.3% of Korea’s GDP.

To mark the anniversary, scores of fans gather in Seoul to enjoy the city’s many landmarks—Namsan Tower, the Han River Bridge—which glow purple. For last year’s ‘Festa’, South Korea had launched a commemorative stamp featuring their album covers, along with vibrant billboards and fireworks. But excitement has peaked this year with the return of vocalist Kim Seokjin—the oldest—from Korea’s two-year, mandatory military enlistment, while the rest of the group remain on hiatus. This hasn’t stopped new music, though.

For Express readers who’d like to join in on the fun, we have reshared our special BTS-themed crossword puzzle. This was originally published last year. You can tap on ‘Start’ below to play. When in doubt, use ‘Reveal’ for hints, or rope in a friend using ‘Play Together’. Happy solving!
