BANGALORE, FEBRUARY 17: Wipro Ltd will not be able to sustain for the full year its after-tax profit growth of 118 per cent recorded in the nine months ended December 31, 1999, a senior company official said on Thursday.

It issued a clarification to the Bangalore Stock Exchange (BSE) on the reported move by a US-based company to acquire a stake in Wipro. According to the clarification, the company has denied any such move and there was no negotiation in this regard with any US-based company. Further, it has also clarified that there was no proposal for an overseas listing at the moment.
