Calling the Budget uninspiring and deceptive, the BJP Monday attacked the government for using global economic slowdown to hide its failures. It alleged that the gloomy economic situation was the making of the UPA,its mismanagement of the economy and policy paralysis.
Initiating the discussion on the Budget in Rajya Sabha,Venkaiah Naidu said the governments motto seems to be injustice for all and appeasement of none. He said every section of the society was unhappy. No big and bold steps have been taken. Everybody thought that because of the so-called crisis there will be some big ideas and new steps initiated by this government. They are all missing, he said.
He said last years Budget took India to the pre-reforms growth rate of five per cent and this years Budget was no different. On the 6.58 per cent increase in outlay,he said,The so-called increase is lower than the rate of inflation. This is the same story with regard to education, health and other sectors.
