Unidentified militants on Sunday morning shot dead a Special Police Officer (SPO) in Sopore. The attack came two days after militants fired at and wounded a sarpanch in the area.
The police said suspected Hizbul Mujahideen militants killed Mudasir Ahmad Dar,a resident of Untoo Hamam,Sopore,outside his house. They called Mudasir out and fired from point blank range killing him on the spot,before fleeing.

Soon after the incident,police and paramilitary forces cordoned off the area and started searches to nab the militants. However,no one has been arrested so far.
