An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer has been accused of taping acts of unnatural sex with his wife,and using the video to blackmail her for more dowry.
The officer and his wife also an IRS officer stayed as probationers at the hostel of the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) in Nagpur before leaving in April to take up postings in Bangalore.
The 28-year-old woman went to the police with her father ,posted in Nagpur,on Wednesday. Offences have also been registered against the officers mother and sister.
Police Inspector Chakshupal Bahadure told The Indian Express that both officers came to NADT in December 2010. While the man proposed in 2011,they got married this February.
While staying at the NADT hostel,the man stealthily made a video of unnatural sex with her, Inspector Bahadure said. When the lady found the video in her husbands laptop,he started threatening and blackmailing her saying he would make the tape public if she didnt bring a Maruti car and Rs 1 lakh in cash, Bahadure said. He said the womans family had given gold worth Rs 10 lakh to the mans family. But they were asking for more… the mother and sister of the husband physically harassed her, Bahadure said. He declined to name the accused IRS officer.
