Coal case: CBI wants one more officer in team,moves SC

The case will be taken up for hearing on Tuesday when the court is expected to peruse the latest status report.

The CBI moved the Supreme Court Monday,seeking its permission to include one more officer in the team of 39 officials carrying out coal blocks allocation probe. It has sought the court’s nod in view of the SC’s direction that the composition of the team will not change without its permission. The case will be taken up for hearing on Tuesday when the court is expected to peruse the latest status report of the CBI in a sealed cover. The CBI had on October 22 filed its fresh status report,which is likely be about the FIR against industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla,his company Hindalco and ex-coal secretary P C Parakh.
