Archana Kavi to make her debut in Tamil

Archana Kavi,who made an impressive acting debut in Lal Jose-directed Neelathamara is all set to make her debut in Tamil cinema too.

Archana Kavi,the Mumbai born girl who made an impressive acting debut in Lal Jose-directed Neelathamara (which was the remake of an old time film with the same name),is all set to make her debut in Tamil cinema too.
Kavi,who had also done a notable role in the recently-released Mummy and Me,makes her entry into Tamil movies with
Aravan,the next film by director Vasantha Balan (of Veyil fame). Aadhi (of Eeram fame),Pasupathy and Thanishka comprise the rest of the cast.
A period flick set in the 18th century,Aravan tells the story of the miseries suffered by textile shop salespersons. Siddharth is the cinematographer while singer Karthik makes his debut as music director with this film.

Pawan Kalyan to play Jesus
Pawan Kalyan,known as the Power Star of Telugu films,is all set to play Jesus Christ in a film to be directed by Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao.
The movie,to be produced by Konda Krishnam Raju,is basically intended for the children. Pawan Kalyan and the rest of the cast have already gone to Jerusalem to begin the shoot. The film will be a multilingual,with versions in Telugu,Malayalam,Hindi and English. Pawan Kalyan would be acting in the Telugu and Malayalam versions,which will narrate the story of Jesus reportedly from a different angle. Kids too are playing key roles in the movie,which will have script penned by J.K. Bhairavi and cinematography by Shekhar. V.Joseph.

M.G. Radhakrishnan is no more
M.G. Radhakrishnan,one of the most notable music directors in the era succeeding Devarajan and Baburaj,passed away recently at the age of 69. Born in Harippad in 1940,Radhakrishnan learnt music and then dabbled with light music before joining the All India Radio,Thiruvananthapuram as a senior composer. He began his career in films as a singer with the movie Kallichellamma. With G.Aravindan’s memorable film Thambu,Radhakrishnan made his debut as a music director. It was with Bharathan’s Thakara that he started getting noted. After that,there was no looking back. The list of films for which he composed songs and background score is long indeed- From Aravam,Poochaykkoru Mookkuththi and Geetham it goes on and includes films like Jaalakam,Advaitham,Manichithrathaazhu,Devasuram,Agnidevan,Kannezhuthi Pottumthottu,Achchaneyaanenkkishtam,Ananthabhadram. He won the State Award for the best music compose twice- for Achchaneyaanenkkishtam and Ananthabhadram. Radhakrishnan’s sister Professor Omanakutty is a well-known musician and his brother M.G. Sreekumar is one of the most popular playback singers and composers.
Radhakrishnan had been keeping unwell for some time before he passed away,at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram,where he was living with his family.

Shaji Kailas teams with Mammootty,Prithviraj
Renowned director Shaji Kailas now plans to bring together Mammootty and Prithviraj in a sequel to his hit film The King,released in 1995. The decision comes when the Mammootty-Prithviraj starrer Pokkiri Raja is running successfully all over Kerala. Kailas will be teaming up with scenarist Renji Panicker after a long gap of about 15 years in this film,which has been titled The King And Commissioner.
While Mammootty will reprise his role of an IAS officer,Joseph Alex,Prithviraj will be playing a young cop who’s always at loggerheads with Alex. To be produced by Anto Joseph,The King And Commissioner will start rolling by January next year and will be brought to the theatres during Vishu (April) next year by Playhouse.
