For the past three terms, Pooran Chand Yogi has been his area’s MLA. Amit, 29, says the MLA has visited his area just once or twice. “There has not been any development in our area. Whenever we have gone to our MLA with our issues, he said things were not in his hands,” says Amit. “He wins because this is a BJP dominated area. I think people should be more sensible before casting their vote,” he adds.
On Inderpuri drain
“We have a big open drain right at the entrance of the colony. On several occasions, we have asked our MLA to get it covered. But nothing has been done. The drain has not been cleaned for years and it worsens during monsoon,” he says.
On parking problem
“Every second day, people have fights for parking space. People are ready to pay for parking, but I don’t understand why all the multi-level parking projects get delayed. The government should have taken the problem seriously,” says Amit.
On BRT
“It is a pity how the government has wasted our money in the BRT corridor. They conduct studies, but still make mistakes. I hope the government that comes to power acts sensibly and does not waste our money,” he says.
