Two ill-fated journalism students were run over by a speeding train while they were shooting for a documentary film in the Badarpur area of south Delhi, police said.
Manish Singla (19) and Arshad (20), first year students of the Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Jagannath Institute of Management Studies here, were run over yesterday while they were on a classroom assignment, they said. institutes’s The duo, after completing their documentary film, decided to have tea and started walking on the railway tracks.
The youngsters did not notice that a train was coming on the same track. As the train came close to them they realised the danger and jumped on the other track but unfortunately another train was coming on that line.
Before they could have saved themselves, they were run over by the train, police said.
The impact of the train was such that their bodies were badly mutilated and could only be recognised today, they said.
Manish was a resident of Mandawali and Arshad was living in Shaheen Bagh area of Jamia Nagar.
