If things work out, Uttaranchal will soon get a “New Dehra Dun’’ township which will be the seat of the state’s political and administrative power.
And the N.D. Tiwari government plans to get the project rolling by November 9, the state’s second birth anniversary. Three sites have been selected for the proposed township to be developed on Dehra Dun’s periphery.

The township would be built on the lines of Greater Noida with ultra-modern facilities like wide roads and shopping complexes. It would house the new Assembly Hall, Secretariat, residences of the CM, Governor, ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats.
