Earlier, the Election Commission had imposed a six-year ban on Thackeray for seeking votes in the name of religion. The disqualification ended in 2001.
And the Sena supremo had obviously learnt his lesson. ‘‘I don’t want to say anything on this issue (Hindutva). They (Election Commission) are waiting to grab an opportunity to disqualify me once again,’’ he said.
