BIRMINGHAM, March 13: Sun Jun of China swept into the semifinals of the All England Badminton Championships destroying Malaysia’s Yong Hock Kin 15-4, 15-2 in just 23 minutes yesterday.

With all the top Danes out of the tournament, the way looks clear for Sun to put behind him two big disappointments of 1997 when he finished runner-up in both the World and All England Championships.
