NEW DELHI, Aug 1: The Supreme Court (SC) today adjourned till August 4 hearing of a special leave petition by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) challenging a Delhi High Court (HC) verdict discharging Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president LK Advani, former Union Minister VC Shukla and others in the Jain-hawala case.

A three-judge Bench, comprising Justice M K Mukherjee, Justice S P Kurdurkar and Justice KT Thomas, directed the petition to be listed for chamber hearing on Monday for fixing a date for regular hearing.

The adjournment was granted on a plea by Advani’s counsel and others for time to file counters to CBI’s affidavit.
