PORT ELIZABETH, March 7: Play was abandoned without a ball being bowled on the second day of the third Test between South Africa and Pakistan at St George’s Park today.

Heavy rain fell throughout the morning and early afternoon forcing umpires Steve Dunne and Rudi Koertzen to call off play at 1.30 pm local time.

Brief scores: South Africa 262-7 (Hansie Cronje 85, Waqar Younis 5-64).
