NEW DELHI, January 7: Left-arm spinner Rahul Sanghvi, who has been selected to represent India in the three-nation one-day tournament in Bangladesh, has been kept busy for the last couple of days, attending felicitation functions held in his honour.

Just a day after receiving the news of his selection in the Indian team, Sanghvi got another pleasant surprise. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) which he joined only last year, gave him a promotion in recognition of his selection for the Dhaka tour.

Yesterday, the former Sardar Patel Vidyalaya student was honoured by his alma mater. Sanghvi, incidentally, is the fourth student from SPV to represent India — Vivek Razdan, Ajay Jadeja and Gagan Khoda being the previous ones.

On Wednesday, Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI) also honoured the talented Sanghvi on the occasion of the inauguration of Teri Cup, featuring corporate and non-corporate cricket teams.
