A six-year-old boy took a kitchen knife to school and threatened to stab a classmate after an argument over a paper aeroplane in Australia.

A six-year-old boy took a kitchen knife to school and threatened to stab a classmate after an argument over a paper aeroplane in Australia, officials said on Thursday.

A teacher found the knife in the boy’s schoolbag on Tuesday, and the father of another student claimed the youngster was going to stab his son, police said.

Queensland education minister Geoff Wilson expressed shock and astonishment at the incident on the state’s Gold Coast, and said an investigation was underway.

“I underline the point schools are no places for knives.

Parents know that, students know that. It’s just not acceptable,” Wilson said, adding that it was an “unusual” situation.

Sonny Burgess, who claims the boy intended to stab his son Ciaran, said the dispute started last week.

“They both had a plane and the other kid told Ciaran his was dumb,so Ciaran took his plane off him and threw it up on the roof,” Burgess told local media.
