Pakistan, who need 207 to make South Africa bat again, were 139 for four in their second innings at tea on the third day of the first Test on Saturday.
Pakistan were forced to follow on after they were dismissed for 161 in reply to South Africa’s first innings total of 368.
Pakistan resumed in the morning on 120 for eight and were all out in the first 25 minutes of play as fast bowler Mornantau Hayward snapped up the last two wickets to finish with five for 56 — his first Test five-wicket haul.
When Pakistan batted again, Nicky Boje took two wickets and Makhaya Ntini and Jacques Kallis one apiece before the tea interval when Yousuf Youhana was 26 not out and Faisal Iqbal on six.
