No suprises were sprung in Nasscom’s latest ranking of the top 20 software and service exporters in 2003-’04. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) sailed to the top position third year in a row, with runners-up Infosys and Wipro trailing close behind.

While TCS had revenues of Rs 5,503 crore in 2003-04, Infosys was at Rs 4,709 crore and Wipro had Rs 3,920 crore revenues, the survey, which does not take BPO revenues into account, finds.

Satyam, HCL Technologies and Patni Computer Systems also retained the fourth, fifth and sixth positions, though iFlex Solutions and Mahindra British Telecom switched places, with iFlex coming in seventh in this year’s ranking.

Polaris, has moved up to the ninth position from the 14th in 2002-03, while Digital Globalsoft has shifted from the 12th to 10th position, while NIIT has slipped a rung to become the 11th biggest player.

Jerry Rao, chairman, Nasscom said, ‘‘The Indian IT companies are truly turning global. A growth of around 30.5 per cent makes this sector one of the highest performers.’’
