The report of the truth-serum test on Abdul Karim Telgi threw up the name of former CM Vilasrao Deshmukh on Wednesday. He was named as the man who helped Telgi get his stamp-paper licence. Deshmukh admitted that he gave the licence in 1994 on Samajwadi Party MLA Anil Gote’s recommendation. When Telgi’s application was submitted by Gote in 1994, said Deshmukh, he had written ‘‘please consider’’ on it. ‘‘The application was processed by the Mumbai Stamp Office and he (Telgi) was awarded stamp vendor’s licence,’’ he said.
