Bangladesh said on Wednesday that it would not give political asylum to senior United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) leader Anup Chetia after his release from jail.
Bangladesh Minister of State for Home Luftuzzman Babar told a visiting delegation from Press Club of Kolkata that Chetia had completed his prison term in a case in February last, but is still in jail following an appeal filed by a Bangladeshi human rights group.
