Mayawati expands cabinet for the fifth time

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati inducted two new ministers in her cabinet.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Thursday inducted two new ministers in her cabinet and elevated two ministers of state in the fifth expansion of her council of ministers after assuming office last year.

With the induction of Rajpal Tyagi and Subhash Pandey, the strength of her council of ministers has risen to 54 including 24 cabinet ministers.

Governor TV Rajeswar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rajpal Tyagi and Subhash Pandey as cabinet ministers at a simple ceremony at Raj Bhawan here this evening.

Tyagi has recently won by-eleciton to Moradnagar (Ghaziabad) seat while Pandey is the MLA from Jaunpur.

Fateh Bahadur Singh and Ram Het, both holding independent charge as the ministers of state having Forest and election departments respectively, have been elevated to the cabinet rank.
