Acting on a tipoff, the West Bengal police rearrested the Dum Dum Central jailbreak kingpin Sheikh Binod as he was fleeing his Dunkuni hideout in Hooghly District early in the morning with his wife and another fugitive Ram Babu Naskar. Two mobile phones were also seized from him. According to a West Bengal Police source, Binod had settled down with his wife Nasima in Dankuni after escaping from jail.

Binod and four others (Ram Babu was one of them) had scaled the walls with a ladder and escaped the jail in September. The jail cameras had failed to detect them while escaping. Of the four who had broken out of the jail in September, one was a Myanmarese who was arrested from former CBI official Upen Biswas’ house at Salt Lake where he was staying on rent.

The police have also detained Binod’s wife for questioning in the conspiracy, said West Bengal Police Special IG N.C. Ghosh. Interestingly, earlier also Shiekh Binod was arrested from a Shyambazar nursing home when he had gone there to see his new born son and wife Nasima.
