Islamabad, Jan 24: The Indian High Commission here today lodged a strong protest to the Pakistan foreign office over the burglary in the house of an Indian diplomat, which the mission officials believe was carried out by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.
The details and circumstances of the break-in clearly indicated involvement of the local intelligence agencies to intimidate and harass the diplomat, a written complaint by the Indian High Commission to theForeign Ministry here said.
According to the complaint, Sashi Ramdas, wife of Indian diplomat Vakil Ramdas, found her house broken into by some unknown intruders yesterday. Nobody was present in the house when the theft took place.
The complaint said a preliminary check carried out found that a video cassette recorder, a wrist-watch and Rs 3,000 in cash were missing."It is impossible for anyone to carry out a house break in a busy street in broad daylight without being noticed. The high commission lodges a protest with the ministry of foreign affairs at the behaviour of the local intelligence operatives.
"The high commission requests the esteemed ministry to ask the concerned intelligence agencies to return the stolen items and ensure that there is no recurrence of such a reprehensible incident in future", the complaint said.
