NEW DELHI, May 9: The Indian Bank Association (IBA) will start negotiations with the bank unions on May 18 on the new wage structure and other pending issues.

Revealing this here today, general secretary of the National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) P Lakshmi, however asked the unions, representing about 13 lakh bank employees, to be ready for "any action" as it was not possible to predict management’s offer.

NCBE is demanding immediate implementation of seventh bi-partite agreement, which is due from October 1997.
