It’s all clear for Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda with Congress registering an emphatic win in all the three byelections at Kiloi, Tosham and Hisar. Hooda himself registered a thumping victory at Kiloi, with all his rivals losing their deposits.
‘‘It’s the victory of the people,’’ said Hooda, who had kept his word not to campaign in the constituency.
Kiran Chaudhary, wife of former Agriculture Minister Surender Singh who died in a helicopter crash, also registered a record victory at Tosham by winning the seat with a handsome margin of 1,25,520 votes.
Savitri Jindal, widow of former Power Minister, O P Jindal too won with a thumping margin of 1,02,231 votes. Hooda himself wrested his seat with 1,03,635 votes, reducing his immediate rival, Azad Singh Attri of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), to only 3,063 votes.
Addressing mediapersons at Rohtak, Hooda said he had no plans to expand his Cabinet for the moment and the issue would be decided after the Assembly session.
