CHENNAI, Sept. 4: It took the effort of over 50 Bharat Hindu Munnani activists, two fire tenders and one police tow to bring down a 36 foot giant idol of Lord Vinayaka. The idol was leaning precariously on a telephone pole at Pulianthope, here. Parts of the idol were loaded onto a lorry and along with the five other smaller idols perched atop bullock carts, taken in a procession around 5.00 pm from Pulianthope to the Marina.
