The Egmore Metropolitan Magistrate has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Central Board of Film Certification’s regional officer in Chennai, S. Raju, in connection with a defamation case preferred by Tamil director Pugazhendhi Thangaraj last year, alleging the officer had implied he had links with the LTTE.

The petition claims Raju said, ‘‘What’s your problem? You have been settled by the LTTE.’’ The officer repeated it in an interview to a Tamil bi-weekly.

Thangaraj’s film Kaatrukenna Veli about a female Lankan Tamil militant, kicked up a controversy for glorifying the LTTE. The Board refused to allow its public screening.
