The Crime Branch on Thursday approached the Pakistan High Commission to make arrangements to collect the bodies of Jishan Joher and Amjadali Akbarali Rana, two of the four persons killed in an encounter with the police on Tuesday morning.

The DCB claims that both were Pakistani citizens — Joher from Gujranwala and Rana from Sargodha — and had come here to kill CM Narendra Modi. A Mumbai girl Israt and a third man, identified as Javed Shiekh from Pune, were also killed in the police operation.

‘‘We have initiated the process of transferring the custody of the bodies to their family members through the authorities concerned. A letter has also been sent to the Pakistan High Commission,’’ Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) D.G. Vanjara said.

The communication to the Pakistan High Commission has been sent through the Joint Secretary, MEA, Pakistan Section.
