A group of painters in China are working on what could be the longest oil painting in the world on a 206-m-long canvas, depicting the entire history of Mongolian people, including the life and times of legendary leader Genghis Khan. When the painting is completed, artists will apply for a listing in the Guinness Book of Records, Xinhua news agency said, quoting Wang Yanqing the Chief Designer of the painting.
James Belushi files suit against Julie Newmar
LOS ANGELES: James Belushi sued his next-door neighbour, actress Julie Newmar, accusing her of a ‘‘campaign of harassment’’ to drive him from his home. The lawsuit, filed on November 2, claims, ‘‘Newmar has engaged in a malicious and premeditated campaign to prevent and destroy Belushi’s quiet peace.’’ It seeks an injunction against the actress as well as damages of at least $4 million as well as attorneys’ fees.

LONDON: Salman Rushdie is hotter than Hollywood star Brad Pitt, according to his fourth wife Padma Lakshmi. ‘‘Salman is handsome, beautiful and very sexy,’’ the Sunday Times quoted her as saying. Padma Lakshmi who also acted in the Bollywood film Boom and modelled for fashion houses like Armani and Versace, married Rushdie in April. —Agencies
