MUMBAI, JULY 27: Central Railway continued to live dangerously in the Gulf Oil Wifa Super Division league, prevailing 1-0 over whipping boys MS Police at the Cooperage. Right winger Asif Jamal scored, only the second time the railwaymen were scoring in three matches, in the 69th minute.

In another match, Central Bank of India and Bank of India played out a goalless draw.

The Railwaymen, who suffered a shocking 0-3 loss to Union Bank in their opener, again struggled to dominate. It took them 33 minutes to piece together a theatening move, but Asif Jamal’s strike sailed over the box.

Jamal, however, made amends in the second half, when he put away a precise through pass by Arshad Ansari. Ansari placed the ball through three defenders, and Jamal beat the advancing Police custodian Ajay Bhonge with a placement between the custodian’s legs.

To rubs salt in Police’s wounds, Abdul Fahim, who had been given a warning earlier by referee Manuel Pereira, was shown the red card for elbowing Prashant Gadge.
