CHANDIGARH, April 20: Mandeep Pannu, judicial magistrate Ludhiana yesterday granted bail to the Chief Administrator of the State Bank of India in a fraud case.

The court directed the Chief Administrator Krishan Gopal Sharma and his daughter Mamta Sharma to furnish a bail bond and surety worth Rs 10,000 each for granting bail.

According to complainant, Krishan Sharma used to visit Punjab Gas Company for supplies. The company also had an account with the bank. The complainant girl, who was an employee of the gas company, made a request to the proprietor to help her buy a moped. Krishan Kumar was sitting with the proprietor and he offered to help the complainant since he knew the moped showroom owner.

A payee account cheque towards the payment of the moped was handed over to Sharma in the name of Dada Motors. The chief administrator, however, purchased the moped in the name of his daughter.The local police had registered a case last year.
