MUMBAI, OCT 18: Two judges of the Bombay High Court, Justice A Y Sakhare and Justice Y S Jahagirdar, are learnt to have sent in their resignations to the President on Sunday.
The two judges are also believed to have conveyed to the Chief Justice, Justice M B Shah, their intention to resign before couriering their resignations to the President.
Neither Justice Sakhare nor Justice Jahagirdar was available for comment despite repeated attempts.
Justice Jahagirdar would have had a long innings (20 years) while Justice Sakhare would have had about 18 years if they had both continued on the Bench. Both of them were appointed 18 months ago and are yet to be made permanent. Justice Jahagirdar is hearing, along with the Chief Justice, important public interest litigation.
The Chief Justice was unavailable for comment.
