Over 13,000 pilgrims have so far left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir and 5,000 of them have paid obeisance at the holy place.
The fifth batch of pilgrims left for the shrine on Sunday taking the total number of devotees travelling to the place to 13,162, sources said.
By the fifth day of the yatra, 5,000 pilgrims have had darshan of the holy ice lingam of Lord Shiva in Lidder Valley in Anantnag district. Escorted by BSF personnel, the devotees, comprising 2,324 men, 432 women and 61 children, left the M.A.M. Stadium here for the base camp at Pahalgam. The BSF has deployed five battalions along the two routes to the shrine to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage.
