UPSC ESE (Preliminary) 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today released the notification for Engineering Services (Preliminary) examination 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply at the official website— upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.

The last date to apply for the exam is September 26 till 6 pm. The link will be disabled post that. Candidates can make modifications to their applications from September 27 to October 3. The exam will be held on February 18, 2024. The admit card will be released three weeks prior the exam.

UPSC ESE (Preliminary) 2024: How to apply

Step 1: Visit the official website— upsconline.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the option for one time registration for UPSC exams

Step 3: Click on new registration and enter your name, date of birth, gender, mobile number and more

Step 4: Once registered login using your credentials such as registered email ID and password

Step 5: Verify the details entered during registration

Step 6: Choose the exam you wish to appear for, fill the information and upload the necessary documents

Step 7: Save submit and pay the fees

Step 8: Download the application form from the dashboard for future reference

There are approximately 167 vacancies including five for persons with benchmark disabilities. The minimum age limit for candidates is 21 years and the upper age limit is 30 years and is subject to relaxation under some categories. The application fee is Rs 200. All female candidates, candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories are exempted from paying application fees.

Candidates will be recruited to the post/ services in four categories— civil engineering (category 1), mechanical engineering (category 2), electrical engineering (category 3) and electronics and telecommunication engineering (category 4).
