Former Karnataka Information Commissioner H N Krishna,facing allegations of irregularities and malpractices in selection of gazetted probationers during his tenure as Public Service Commission (KPSC) Chairman,was today remanded to judicial custody by a court till October 26.
An Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court passed the remand order when Krishna was produced before it at the expiry of the interim bail granted by it.
Krishna was arrested by the CID police,probing the matter on October 7 and was granted interim bail on his request that he has to attend his foster daughter’s marriage on October 10.
Earlier,Karnataka High Court had rejected Krishna’s anticipatory bail plea on September 19 noting that a thorough further investigation was needed to probe “many more things” by candidates,officials and non-officials during Krishna’s tenure.
Following denial of the anticipatory bail,Krishna resigned as State Information Commissioner.
