Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi voiced strong condemnation of Israel’s latest airstrikes on Gaza, describing the attacks as “cold-blooded murder” in a statement posted on the social media platform X on Wednesday.

“The cold-blooded murder of over 400 innocent civilians, including 130 children, by the Israeli government shows that humanity means nothing to them,” Gandhi wrote, as she joined a chorus of international criticism against Israel’s military actions. Her remarks come amid a fresh wave of violence in the Gaza Strip, the largest since the ceasefire agreement took effect in January.

According to hospital officials quoted by the Associated Press, Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday killed at least 413 Palestinians, including women and children. The Gaza health ministry added that over 660 people had been injured, with many victims feared to be trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings.

Reacting further, Gandhi stated that Israel’s actions revealed an “inherent weakness and inability to face their own truth,” criticizing what she called the complicity of Western powers. “Whether Western powers choose to recognize this or acknowledge their collusion in the genocide of the Palestinian people, all citizens of the world who have a conscience (including many Israelis) see it,” she wrote. “The more criminally the Israeli government acts, the more they reveal themselves for the cowards they truly are.”

Gandhi also praised the resilience of the Palestinian people, despite their immense suffering. “They have endured unimaginable suffering, yet their spirit remains resilient and unwavering,” she said, drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.

The airstrikes come as the ceasefire, established in January, appears to be unraveling. The ceasefire deal initially saw Hamas release 33 Israeli hostages and five Thai nationals in exchange for approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. However, talks over the release of the remaining 59 Israeli hostages have stalled. Hamas has demanded a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, while Israel has sought an extension of the truce without agreeing to that condition.

The situation continues to worsen as tensions mount, with the latest violence marking a significant escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, jeopardizing any hopes for a peaceful resolution.
