Along with major economic and social decisions, many historic steps will also be seen in this budget. The pace of reforms will be further accelerated in tune with the aspirations of people of India for rapid development,” Murmu said.

Ahead of the announcement of the schedule for the General elections to Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had chaired on March 3 a meeting of the Council of Ministers and discussed the 100-day action plan to be implemented by the new government after the polls.
