Deputy Chief Minster Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday dismissed the “report card” issued by the UPA on completion of its four years in power at the Centre as “a postmortem report and a listless obituary”.

“Everybody knows that that the UPA has been lying in a mortuary for many years now. They are trying to hide the mortal state of the Congress and the UPA and cover up the causes of mortality under the camouflage of this photo-op. which has proved to be a desperate but failed publicity gimmick,” said Sukhbir in a statement.

He claimed that the “report card tamasha” was also a last ditch attempt by the outgoing UPA regime to assure the people of the country that it still had a semblance of a government left in it.

“But the people have already decided that they need a government at the Centre and they are waiting for elections, which could be held any moment now,” said Sukhbir.

“The very fact that the Congress-led UPA needed to stage this kindergarten stage show of putting small clips on the children’s lapels as medals,is proof that they know that this was a farewell function,” he added.
