The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will carry out its first major commercial satellite launch in over a year, sending five small foreign satellites into space on its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C23) on June 30.
The satellites will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 9.49 am, ISRO said in an official statement.
The PSLV-C23 will carry French Earth Observation Satellite SPOT-7, weighing 714 kg, as its main payload while a 14 kg satellite from Germany called AISAT, two 15 kg satellites from Canada CAN-X4 and CAN-X5 and a 7 kg satellite from Singapore, VELOX-1, will travel piggyback.
The satellites are being launched under commercial arrangements with respective foreign agencies, ISRO said.
