The family members of former UP minister Amarmani Tripathi’s daughter-in-law Sara, who was allegedly killed in an accident last week, Monday demanded a CBI inquiry into the death of the 27-year-old law graduate. The family members, who met DGP Jagmohan Yadav, also submitted an application demanding a narco analysis test of Amarmani and the girl’s husband, Amanmani, who had escaped unhurt in the car crash in Firozabad district last week.
Amarmani, who is serving life term in the case related to the murder of a poet with whom he allegedly had an affair, is currently admitted at a Gorakhpur hospital under judicial custody.

In the application, Sara’s mother Seema Singh said the car accident could be a “conspiracy” by Amarmani to murder her daughter as he was against her marriage with his son. Stating that that some of the findings of the girl’s post-mortem report “raised doubts over her death”, Seema said, “a narco analysis test on Amanmani can answer a lot of questions”.
IG, Law and Order, A Satish Ganesh said the DGP has sought some “additional details” from Sara’s family after which the matter will be reviewed and a decision will be taken. The family members said they will soon submit the details.
The family members who have already said Sara wanted to end her two-year-old marriage with Amanmani while he was against it, cited more incidents suggesting their relationship had been troubled. “Once when I was in Delhi, she called me to tell that Amanmani had beaten her badly after which I warned him to never do so again,” Seema claimed. The deceased girl’s younger brother Harsh said Sara had once told him about a similar incident of being beaten up by her husband.
