Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan pulled up Congress member Deepender Singh Hooda during zero hour Friday for coming into the Well of the House to register his protest for not being given of enough time to raise the one rank one pension issue.

“You are still young… These type of tactics are not proper,” Mahajan remarked after seeing Hooda’s protest. She pointed out to Hooda that she had allowed him to speak even though he had not given a notice. “You cannot make a lengthy speech during Zero Hour,” the Speaker observed at one stage as Hooda went on to speak at length. She repeatedly asked him to briefly state what he wanted done. “You just do not know how to make a demand,” she said. An agitated Hooda, however, staged a walkout for not having been given adequate time.

A charged-up BJP member Udita Raj, meanwhile, sought to take on the judiciary saying “there is a third house in this country which is un-elected, which is annulling laws made by the House.” He said: “A judge of the Gujarat High Court should not have said that reservation and corruption are creating hindrance for the country. Now judges are saying like this. They are abusing the Constitution. I expect from all the political parties that he be impeached. Reservation is being compared with corruption.”
